Why did you choose to do the ishta http://www.ishtayoga.com/teacher_training Yoga Teacher Training?

I wanted to do the Ishta yoga teacher training initially because I was fascinated by the thought of getting first hand knowledge from Alan Finger, the founder of ISHTA yoga. When I visited the studio, I was struck by the wonderful energy that radiated from the place, which was extremely personal, intimate, and relaxing. Once I got a small more information about the basic philosophy behind Ishta, I became convinced this was the right place for me because of the integrated nature of the approach, which included Hatha, Tantra but also Ayurveda aspects. It also focuses highly on the individual, and tries to develop specific yoga solutions for every person based on their needs and abilities. Another thing that was inspiring was the diversity of teachers that worked at yoga, in terms of age, background, character. I felt that Ishta was the only place where you don’t have to be a specific ‘yoga-type’ to fit in. This suggested to me that I could find my own niche within Ishta yoga, which proved very much the case. They really encourage you to embrace your own identity and find your own style of practice and teaching.

What you got out of the “teacher training”

Studying at Ishta yoga for nearly 500 hours has given me a much deeper understanding of yoga, and has cemented yoga as an integral part of most things in my life. At first, I treated yoga merely as a part of my exercise routine, but now I appreciate it much more as a philosophy and a science, especially because of the strong focus on that part of yoga at Ishta. The yoga teacher training also gave me the ability to connect to other yoga students, both on a physical and mental level. What I like is the ability to inspire and teach students how to do their own practice, and to teach them how to focus on their own habits and abilities in developing their practice.

Why did u choose to “become a teacher trainer.”

I chose to become a teacher trainer first and foremost because I wanted to become better at Yoga. I was also looking to become part of the yoga community, and to find a peaceful place where I could develop and grow on a personal, spiritual, and physical level. I have always loved teaching, and I thought Ishta yoga would be wonderful thing to share with the world.  Aside from spreading the word, I really wanted to learn how to share it professional, which is why I took the teacher training.

* Brownies will visit our 10 acre ranch.
* They will look in the barn, and learn about the horse’s stall and all the equipment that is in the stall.

What does it take for one to become an occupational psychoanalyst?

Well, this psychoanalyst typically holds a masters level degree in occupational therapy.
